Their aim was to promote the industrial use of cold forging in OECD member countries, by enhancing research and development through international cooperation. The Group founded the International Cold Forging Group (ICFG) on November 15th, 1967. After fifty-seven years ICFG is now a well-known and internationally recognized organization of 104 members coming from 21 of the most developed countries. Its aims and scope are defined as: To promulgate the economic advancement of cold forging by encouraging and coordinating national and international cooperation, by instigating research and by disseminating knowledge of relevant processes and sciences.
The plenary meeting encompasses a spectrum of research areas, covering four subgroup topics such as the lubrication, computational cold forging, smart data and tool life & tool quality of cold forging.
